Ukraine attacks a factory built by Europe for its connection with the most powerful drones of Russia

Ukraine held a drone attack against the Optikovolokonnye Systemy, near Saransk, the capital of the Republic of Mordovia last Saturday, almost 1,500 kilometers from the front of the war unleashed by the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, in Ukraine.

The local authorities in the area confirmed the attack on Telegram and, according to media reports, the attacked factory is the only one in Russia that produces fiber optic, as reported by the Finnish medium . This has become a crucial element when the Russian armed forces carry out drones attacks against the Ukrainian army.

Ukraine has learned to effectively block controlled Russian drones by electronic interference. Given this, Russia found a solution in the drones that, when they fly, discharge a fiber optic cable, through which the device is guided to its target. In this way, they cannot be counteracted electronically.

According to military analyst Leonid Dmitriyev, interviewed by The Insiderfactory damage does not seem very extensive. However, you may have to close for some time, since the manufacture of fiber optics requires cleaning and precision.

The factory building and the equipment of Optikovolokonnye Systemy were delivered key by hand by the Finnish company Nextrom Oy in 2011, according to the same medium. Previously Nextrom was part of the Nokia group.

The fiber factory received its spare parts from Finland, Germany and Japan until the beginning of the war, when they began to be supplied from China.
