The president of the European Popular Party (PPE), Manfred Weber, announced Wednesday that he will propose to the spokeswoman of the PP in the European Parliament, Dolors Montserrat, as general secretary of the party.
“With its modern, active and political strength, Dolors Montserrat @DOLORSMM, which made a brilliant campaign at the local, regional, national and European level, will be my proposed candidate for the general secretary of the PPE,” Weber said on social networks.
The PPE dome will be renewed at the next training congress, which will take place in Valencia on April 29 and 30 and in which Weber himself is anticipated as president of the party.
The president has the competence of nominating his secretary general, something that will formally announce in Valencia on the 29th. The Congress as a whole will vote that name in the second and last day of Congress, although party sources indicate that That vote is a “formality”.
