Suspicions of forcing prostitution
The suspects reportedly forced women to prostitution, the German Ministry of the Interior said. The police spokesman explained that the network of smugglers was transported to the European Union mostly women from Vietnam for false visas and forced them to prostitution.
The operations were carried out in cooperation with the European Police Office (Europol) and the majority have already been completed. They focused on gangs that smuggled people to Britain through Denmark.
Since October 2023, the German police have been detained by more than 2,000 traders in human beings during border controls. The number of persons transported in that year reached 40,000, dropping to 10,000 last year. She stressed that the admission of new employees to the police played a role in this case. “In recent years, we have strengthened the Federal Police by 1000 cities,” the Minister added.
