The Maduro Decree aims to ensure Venezuelan development and growth

The president of ,signed an economic emergency decree on Tuesday (8), allowing him to promulgate laws to combat the effects of tariffs announced by the US President’s government, and to ensure Venezuelan development and growth. “The decree authorizes me for two months to act and implement various forms of public policies to defend the national economy,” he said in a televised government event, informing that the measure is extendable for another 60 days.

For Maduro, tariff policy generates “a significant risk of a global recession with a corresponding collapse of the global economy.” At the end of March, Trump announced a 25% rate on all imports from any country that bought Oil or Gas from Venezuela, as well as new taxes on the country. Recently, the Republican also announced the imposition of 15% rates on Venezuela.
