Last Tuesday (8), a tragic bus accident shook the region of specifically on the MG-223 highway, between the cities of Araguari and Tupaciguara. The accident resulted in 11 deaths and left 36 people injured. Among the survivors, a story of resilience and hope emerged: a pregnant woman, rescued under the vehicle, had to perform an emergency delivery. The baby, named Aurora, was born healthy and is under care in the neonatal ICU, while the mother faces a long path of recovery after suffering serious injuries, including amputation of an arm.

The victims of the accident include seven people already identified, including two children, sisters of 2 and 6 years, and five adults with ages ranging from 40 to 69 years. One of the victims, a woman who was in serious condition, was taken to the Clinical Hospital of the Federal University of but unfortunately it could not resist the injuries. The impact of the accident was so severe that many passengers were thrown out of the bus, raising suspicions about the inappropriate use of the seat belt.

The bus driver, who was unharmed from the accident, is collaborating with investigations conducted by the Military Highway Police. Authorities are examining the possible causes of the accident, including negligence in the use of the seat belt by passengers.
