Scientists from Colossal Biosciences in the United States brought to life the wolf species Dire Wolves, which disappeared more than 12 thousand years ago.
Scientists have created three wolf chicks using ancient DNA, cloning and gene editing technology to change the genes of a gray wolf, the closest living relative of the prehistoric wolf, Colossal Biosciences announced, April 7, reports.
The result is a hybrid species similar to appearance to its missing predecessor.
The wolves Dire Wolves were larger than the gray wolves and had a slightly wider head, thick fur and stronger jaws.
