Even though it does not show it so obvious, even the cat builds a very strong bond to its breeder and needs to know that this love is both sides. When she does not receive answers to attempts to contact, the breeder can literally break her heart.
Contact is important to the cat
A big mistake is the unwillingness to respond to the cat’s efforts to contact with man. As soon as the cat comes, sits down, or even settles on your lap, it means nothing more than that at that moment feels the need for contact and expression of affection. It is not very different, for example, from children’s feelings. But it does not always have to be a physical contact – also watch the frequency of her blinking. If he looks at you and blinks very slowly, he expresses his love. She will be really happy if you try to imitate her behavior. Even if you don’t know the cat speech as well as her, they will certainly understand what you wanted to express.
The company needs everyone
“The cat will benefit all day, so she can be alone at home,” it often sounds even from their breeders themselves. But it is not quite true either. Yes, the cat really sleeps a lot, but even if he is asleep, she likes to perceive the presence of another animal or his man. Long -term solitude can lead to stress and cat depression. These are then manifested, for example, by destroying the equipment of the apartment, urinating in places where you do not want to see the puddles, or even an animal disease. So if you know that you will not have enough time for the cat, but you still decide to buy the pet, consider two cats at once. They will have fun, they will have the company and the time you are at work will escape them better.
Rituals are the foundation
Cat people know well that these are animals that have their rituals on which they insist and just do not like to change them. Therefore, try to avoid sudden changes such as the replacement of furniture throughout the apartment at once, a radical change in the schedule of the day, and so on. It goes without saying that sometimes there is a move. You do not have to worry, the cat can do it, but it will need your help, support and above all understanding for any fouls that can do at that time. The worst thing she could happen would be a punishment for something she did in stress.
Punishment is not the right way
When a child makes a mistake that follows a reasonable consequence, it can understand the cause and context if we explain them well. But do not expect such an understanding from the cat. If you return home from work and find that there is scratched canape, wet shirt that you did not clean up or dropped vase, really makes no sense to punish the cat. First of all, it is mostly a mistake of a breeder who did not adapt the apartment to the cat (nothing can be done, so it is just), and secondly the animal will not really know after a few hours that it has dropped the vase, for which now comes the punishment. The only thing we can achieve is the fear of the cat from your breeder, misunderstanding of the situation and fear of every further contact.
Respect for the character
It is not a cat like a cat – just like humans, some cats are more contact, others avoid cuddling with pleasure. We, as experienced breeders, must accept their nature as it is. Ignore the attempts of a contact animal to cuddle, as well as the violent possession of a distant cat just to be cuddled with it, will do nothing good for our relationship. Respect, this is a word that belongs to the breeding dictionary.
Watch changes in cat behavior
Does your cat have a broken heart, or is it so far “just” sad? Beware of signals that you can safely recognize. It is likely that you will see the animal less, because it will hide, it will also not go to the bowl so often, it can unnecessarily meow, or it will stop manifesting, but one of the signals of stress is also excessive hair licking. In the worst case, stress can also turn against the breeder and the animal begins to behave aggressively. Let us recall: it will not be a mistake stressed cat, but its breeder. And so we should approach the whole care of any animal that we decide to take care of.
