Chinese authorities reacted firmly on Thursday (10) to the President of the United States, Donald Trump. In public statements, China’s government spokesmen have stressed that the country will not accept unilateral pressures and are willing to face a trade war if the United States insists on intensifying the conflict.

“The Chinese government will absolutely not be crossed up while others try to remove the legitimate rights and interests of the Chinese people or to sabotage the rules of international trade and the multilateral system,” said Lin Jian, spokesman for China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Ministry of Commerce was more emphatic: “If the US is determined to hang a trade war, China will fight to the end.” The folder added that any negotiation should occur based on mutual respect and equality, rejecting what it called “pressures, threats and blackmail.”
