Deputy Gilvan of the Federal (PL-ES) apologized for wishing the death of President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT) during session of the House Public Security Commission. In a new speech on Wednesday, 9, Gilvan said he “exaggerated his speech” and should “recognize his mistakes.”
“I learned from my father that a man must recognize his mistakes. A Christian should not wish anyone’s death, so I do not wish anyone’s death, but I still understand that Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva should be arrested and pay for everything he has done to our country, but I recognized that I exaggerated in my speech.
A day earlier, on Tuesday, 8, Gilvan said he wants Lula to “die” by defending a project, reported by him, who disarms his presidential guard. The score for the disarmament of the petista security guards was 15 votes in favor, eight against and an abstention. The proposal goes to the Public Administration and Service Commission.
“For me, I want more is that Lula dies. I want him to go to the ‘fifth of hell’ (sic). It’s a right of mine,” said the federal deputy. “Not even the devil wants Lula. That’s why he is living there. He overcame cancer … I hope he has a tachycardia. Because not even the devil and this disgrace of this president who is sinking our country. And I want it to die.
Also on Wednesday, Federal Deputy Kiko Celeguim (PT-SP) and PT leader in the House, Lindbergh Farias (RJ), filed a request for the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) to investigate and take measures against Gilvan. The two accuse the PL parliamentarian of “if severely exceeded in the exercise of their parliamentary immunity, to give offenses, threats, incite violence and apologize for the practice of violent act against the federal executive branch.”
The two also requested the establishment of investigation, adoption of precautionary measures necessary to elucidate the facts and submitting a complaint against Gilvan for threat crimes, incitement to crime, attempted abolition of the democratic rule of law and “other legal types that remain demonstrated throughout the investigation.”

“It is not too much to remember that it is under investigation, process and judgment the case known as Operation Yellow dagger that had, among its objectives, the murder of authorities, especially the President of the Republic,” said the request addressed to the PGR, referring to an alleged plan of former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) to kill Lula, Vice President Geraldo Alckmin (PSB) (STF) Alexandre de Moraes.
The Attorney General of the Union (AGU) also acted on Wednesday. AGU has asked the Federal Police (PF) and PGR to investigate whether the statements are covered by parliamentary immunity. In the legislature, the PT must file a representation against Gilvan at the House Ethics Council.
