The President of the Liberal Initiative (IL), Rui Rocha
Surroundings promise, liberals bet on moderation to capture votes and enable government – which can form alongside AD.
In the debate with Luís Montenegro in 2024, Rui Rocha He said the next government was at that table. It did not happen: the 8 deputies of the liberal initiative (IL) fThey were far from giving absolute majority to one right without arriving.
A year later, the scenario seems to be different. At least, the polls suggest that the Il can even be the party with the greatest climb in the next legislative elections.
So that the polls are not for polls, the IL is change your strategy to the next legislatives, betting on moderation in response to the current political and economic context.
The highlight that Rui Rocha – and the party – are sensitive to what is happening in the world, especially at the level economic.
Liberals will be available for enable governance solutionsbut without abdicating your reformist identity.
One comes one new program IL, more moderate, especially in tax matters – Without abandoning the main liberal flags.
Example of moderation: IRC. Now the IL that reaches 15% by 2029 instead of the 12% previously proposed. Node IRS, They advocate two rates regime (15% and 28%) to gradually implement by 2030.
IL guarantees that it will continue to defend the reduction and simplification of taxes, without compromising the exemption of lower income.
Na housing, It defends the reduction of VAT from construction to 6% and proposes tax incentives to building income, to increase supply in the lease market.
All this, justifies the party leader, to “give a sign of responsibility” and conquer the confidence of the voters.
And this “responsibility” will also be visible the day after the elections: IL is available to participate in a governance solution as long as it can influence public policies.
Rui Rocha has already stated: “We are here to ensure a governance solution to the country.”
The future is open. The party continues without setting concrete electoral goals.
