The board of directors reported on Thursday (10) that the plant presented a surplus of US $ 680 million (R $ 3.96 billion) in 2024.
The result refers to the exploration account, which shows the balance between revenues and the costs of power generation. There was also accounting profit of $ 443 million.
Present in the presentation of the balance were the Brazilian Director General, Enio Verri, Ministers Fernando Haddad (Farm), Rui Costa (Civil House) and Esther Dweck (management), as well as representatives of the governments of Brazil and Paraguay.
The plant’s board also approved the record volume of US $ 871.9 million in social and environmental investments, being US $ 540.3 million invested in Brazil.
The plant also allocated US $ 301 million for the Itaipu marketing account. According to the company, this ensures the maintenance of the power tariff at US $ 17.66/kW, with no increased increases for consumers.
