The TJDF (Court of Justice of) ruled, on Thursday (10), to suspend the holding of the National Congress of, after a wing of the acronym coordination suspect fraud in the process of choosing the delegates able to vote in the election that will elect the new presidency of the party.
On Wednesday (9), the court had determined that the current board will deliver a list of documents that would prove the legality of the electoral process. The requirement was met, but in the court’s understanding, it was not sufficient.
The next step will also be decided by the court, which may ask for new supporting documents for a broader investigation or declare the party’s nullity for the two -year period.
The party has lived a year ago among the groups led by former Alleades and Heloísa Helena, with exchanges of accusations and war of lawsuits for the occupation of spaces and distribution of financial resources. The threat of freezing the acronym for two years further increased the climate of tension, according to interlocutors.
By the national coordinator of the network, Giovanni Mockus, who was also responsible for the 6th National Party Congress, scheduled for the 11th, 12th and 13th. The election for the new party leadership would take place on Saturday.
Mockus would run for presidency of the acronym along with Iaraci Dias, both network spokesmen and supported by Marina Silva. The plate should face the secretary of Belo Horizonte City Hall, Paulo Lamac, whose candidacy is supported by the current party leadership, Heloisa Helena and Wesley Diogenes.
