Learn the four-color method that can help you detect lies quickly

Lies are part of our daily lives. Whether to avoid confrontation, protect feelings or even to achieve personal advantages, we have all been confronted with them, but how can we identify when someone is lying? Psychologist and communication expert Thomas Erikson presents an innovative tool to detect efficient and quickly detecting lies: the four -color method.

The four colors method: How does it work?

Erikson, author of the bestseller surrounded by idiots, applies to this new book, surrounded by liars, the famous four -color theory, which classifies human behaviors into four distinct profiles. The central idea is that each person has a dominant color that influences the way he communicates and often as a mind.

The four-color method was originally designed to understand communication styles, but Erikson adapts it to the detection of lies by associating behavioral profiles with certain patterns of mistake. Based on this theory, the author teaches how to interpret signs and deviations in the behavior of each type, allowing him to quickly identify when someone is not being sincere.

How to detect lies through behavioral profiles

The profiles are divided into four categories: the “red”, which is determined, direct and competitive; the “yellow”, expansive and enthusiastic; the “green”, calm, empathic and conciliatory; and the “blue”, detailed, analytical and critical. Each of these profiles has different ways to behave when it comes to lying. For example, a “red” can lying aggressively to protect your ego or position, while a “green” can try to omit the truth to avoid conflict.

Erikson explains that by understanding these characteristics, we can observe subtle changes in people’s behavior, such as hesitation, changes in tone of voice or body language, which are indicative that something is not being said correctly. When focusing on colors, it is easier to identify patterns and distinguish a lie from a simple omission or exaggeration.

The practical application of the method in different contexts

In addition, the author stresses that this method does not only apply to personal situations, but also to professional contexts such as business meetings, interviews or negotiations. The ability to perceive when someone is omitting or distorting the truth can be crucial to making more informed and more secure decisions.

Erikson also offers practical tips on how to react when we detect a lie. Instead of confronting directly, the author suggests using strategic questions that can lead the liar to reveal inconsistencies in history. The key, he said, is to keep calm and make use of our keen observation, based on the knowledge of the four colors.

Become more permanent and empathic

Applying the four -color method not only allows you to detect lies, but it also helps improve our own interactions. By understanding the motivations and forms of communication of others, we can become more empathic and effective in our personal and professional relationships. Ultimately, Erikson argues that true honesty begins with us as we are clear in our own intentions and discourses.

Available in bookstores

According to the new book surrounded by liars, translated into Portuguese and available in bookstores, offers a unique approach to understanding the mechanisms of lies and how to deal with them in our daily lives. This practical guide is suitable for those who want to improve their communication skills and learn to distinguish the truth from fiction quickly.

With the method of four colors, we can all become more perceptive, suspicious of what we do not see and, at the same time, more aware of the subtleties of the people around us.
