Despite the president’s personal commitment (PT) in favor of the former mayor, the PT presidency has gained new bids on questioning the Planalto Palace’s favorite campaign spending and launching an opposing candidacy.

On Tuesday (8), Valter Pomar, leader of the current leftist articulation and also a candidate for the presidency, forwarded a request for information to the treasurer, Gleide Andrade, to ask if the party was covering Edinho’s travel expenses across the country.

To the text, published on social networks, attached Posts of Edinho himself, with photos and description of the weekend script by three municipalities: Palmas (TO), Cuiabá (MT) and Contagem (MG).

On the same day, he received a letter signed by Costa and “the National Workers Party directory reports that it did not cost any expenses linked to such activities and has no information on the subject,” they replied.

“Unless better judgment, there is no commercial flight available to be in these three cities in a single weekend, at the time of activities released by Instagram (see prints),” he had written orchard.

He had added that, in his view, it was indicated, “therefore, that the displacement was made of jet.” He also stressed what he called the professional character of the disclosure, which would require the accompaniment of a team.

In the message, he presented three possible origins for money, including, among the options, business donation or militants. From there he questioned whether the party was bearing these expenses – if the third hypothesis.

Published by Pomar, the message exchange circulated on the petista network. And, sought by SheetEdinho declined to comment on the subject.

This Wednesday (9), Pomar forwarded a new message questioning the party’s summit about alleged boosting posts in support of Edinho. Already in Congress, the former president of and federal deputy, Rui Falcão (SP), announced his candidacy as opposed to Edinho.

In a clear mention of the former mayor, he pointed out as a seed of his candidacy a letter sent to the militants in which he defended a vigorous and fierce PT that “face the right no with flowers.” He says that there was a manifesto born in favor of his name.

“You do not fight fascism, as they say we are here in fascism, with flowers. You fight with social mobilization, with struggle,” he said, who will officially launch the candidacy on Monday (14) in São Paulo.

Asked about the possibility of backwards at Lula’s request, Falcão launched doubts about an initiative of the president in this regard. The deputy says there is no problem talking to the president and is committed to his reelection, “the biggest leadership we have.”

He also stated that it is not a candidacy against Lula, nor in challenge to the president, because he did not hear from him a demonstration for another candidate. “I think he has the greatest respect for the PT militants, for my story. I have doubts if he would call me to try to dissuade me,” he said.

Falcão hopes to tell compare the party’s internal election. As Edinho has faced – CNB (building a new Brazil) – the attempt is that the launch of candidacies bring the dispute for a second round.

Edinho, however, has expanded alliances beyond CNB. This Wednesday, received the support of former Minister Paulo Pimenta. His allies count votes that would guarantee him victory in the first round.

Lula, in turn, even attended meetings with party leaders in an attempt to enable an agreement that avoids internal wear. So far, to no avail.

At the center of the dispute is also control of the party’s cash. In February, the PT approved that they have already exercised three consecutive terms in the same legislative home or instance as the acronym. The decision allows the reelection of the party treasurer.

EDINHO supporters, however, remember that the treasury is traditionally the responsibility of people trusted by the acronym presidents.

The party’s internal election is scheduled for July. The caption is interimly led by Senator Humberto Costa, since leaving command to take over the Ministry of Institutional Relations in March.
