Within an investment plan that provides for contributions between $ 4 billion and $ 5 billion per year, TIM () will focus at least $ 1 billion in the state of São Paulo now in 2025. The plan is considered the largest modernization project in TIM history and was officially announced on Thursday morning (10), with the promise of double the operator’s 5G coverage in the region.
TIM is working on the modernization of its network of 3,000 antennas in the city. In addition, it will install another 700 antennas in cities in the interior of the state. With this, the company will operate 5G in 200 municipalities until October this year – currently the technology is in 100 locations in the territory of São Paulo.
In the presentation of the investment to the press, the CEO of TIM, Alberto Griselli explained that the operator led the development of 5G in Brazil two years ago, bringing technology to all neighborhoods of the state capital.
“It is a plan that strengthens our leadership in Sao Paulo, but clearly we have a plan for all of Brazil,” said the executive, in the presentation of the plan to the press.
To the InfomoneyFabio Avellar, TIM’s commercial vice president in Brazil, explained that the increase connectivity can help in expand the company’s revenue with higher data consumption by customers.
“It is part of our strategy, yes, but especially to offer a higher quality service. And when we expand to 5G, the 4G customer also has a better experience, as it releases space on the network,” said the executive.

“A better experience for the 4G customer provides that they can consume more [dados]have new applications, consume value -added services. Naturally, this monetizes the base. ”

The company will also bet on the expansion of its network of physical stores in São Paulo. In the capital, the inauguration of a concept store is scheduled for the end of this month. In total, 30 new stores will be opened in the state, which represents a 20% growth in the chain.

“Everyone knows that e-commerce activity is growing, but we have a set of customers who like to have a physical relationship with our brand and so we are expanding our presence with new stores,” said the CEO.
