In the six hours of leaving the last train of the night and the arrival of the first morning train, the workers from Rural Japan built a completely new train station.
This will replace a significantly larger wooden structure, which has served commuters from this distant community for over 75 years.
The components of the new station were printed 3D elsewhere and assembled on the spot last month, which the railway operators say it is a world premiere.
It may look more like a shelter than as a train station, but the traditional construction would have lasted more than two months and would have cost twice as much.
As the population of Japan ages and the labor decreases, the maintenance of the railway infrastructure, including the buildings of the outdated stations, is an increasing problem for the railway operators.
