STF stretches Easter and runs out of sessions throughout the week – 11/04/2025 – Brasilia Today

The Supreme Court (STF) has expanded the holiday and will not have plenary sessions throughout the week. Easter takes place between the Friday of the Passion of Christ (18) and Easter Sunday (20). The second (21) is also national holiday, from Tiradentes.

By Catholic tradition, the previous Sunday (13) is Ramos Sunday, when the Lent ends. The fifth is considered holy for the foot washing ceremony. But only Friday is a national holiday.

The Supreme Calendar has considered Easter since Wednesday (16). Thus, there will be no sessions of the Plenary, which occur in the afternoons of Wednesday and Thursday.

The classes, however, will not have sessions either. They happen in general on Tuesday afternoons.

The works are resumed the following Tuesday (22), with the against the NA-formed by government members (PL) who had strategic positions and, according to the (Attorney General’s Office), articulated measures to enable the coup d’état.

In early March, likewise, the ministers did not have sessions during Carnival week.

The court office did not work on Monday (3) or on Tuesday (4). On Ash Wednesday (5) the work was resumed from 14h.
