The president is demanding that they will fall below 10%, which have been in force last weekend, said White House Advisor Kevin Hasset said today, after President Donald, who had imposed.
“I think everyone understands that 10% is the threshold for our duties. And it would take a remarkable deal to want the president to go lower, “he told CNBC.
As Hasset pointed out, “the president knows that in order to achieve the necessary changes in favor of US workers, we must put sufficient pressure on our financial partners.”
At a press conference later to the White House, the US official said the US government is considering bids from 15 countries for tariff agreements and is close to ending with some of them.
“The USTR (US Commercial Representative Office) informed us that there are perhaps 15 countries now that they have made clear offers we are studying, examining and deciding if they are good enough to present the president,” Hasset told reporters at the White House.
He said that high mobility in trade agreements is expected in the next three or four weeks. “This is a really, very fast process now that it doesn’t start today or yesterday. It started long before, “he said.
“There is a large list of agreements that are just close to the finish line,” the financial adviser told CNBC earlier today.
