The Brazilian Army formed this Friday (11) the First woman in the history of the corporation to be part of the Army Aviation Command (Cavex).
During the ceremony, held at the Army Aviation Instruction Center, in Taubaté, in the interior of São Paulo, the 1st Lieutenant Emilly Braz, 24, and thirteen lieutenants, two from the Navy, received the “wings” of the aviation of the Brazilian Army.
The ceremony was attended by the army commander, General Tomás Paiva, as well as other authorities.
“Firstly, we need to celebrate the formation of another class of this course, which is very demanding since the selection process. Then, the complexity of the course itself, which requires self -denial, study and overcoming. And of course, we celebrate the formation of the first pilot woman of Army Aviation, without a doubt a milestone, which proves the integration of women in all lines of the army,” said the commander.
In addition to being the first woman in history to form army pilot, Lieutenant Emily, who is from Santana do Livramento, was the youngest in the 2018 class of the Black Needles Military Academy (Aman), which was the first to form women.
The course conducted by the military is lasting 63 weeks, which include rigorous theoretical and practical training, which reach 1,800 hours of real flight and simulators.
Among the course modules are operations with night vision glasses (OVN), instrument flight and tactical riding, enabling new pilots for missions in different operational scenarios.
