Three black state deputies claim to have been victims of at Guarulhos airport on Friday (11), when they returned from a congress in Mexico in which they debated gender and race violence.
Ediane Maria (-SP), Andreia Maria de Jesus (-MG) and Leninha (PT-MG), who is vice president of Almg (Legislative Assembly of Minas Gerais), represented Brazil in the international panel of Afropolitical women in Mexico, this Thursday (10).
The parliamentarians returned to Brazil on Friday and said that as they passed the scanner, at the exit of the customs, shortly after the landing, they were selected for a magazine by the PF (Federal Police) security agents. According to Ediane Maria, no other group was stopped by the police.
“The random magazine, which of random has nothing, is another discriminatory and racist practice. I was in line with the landing, with two more state deputies, and of all who were in line, only we, three black women, who were chosen,” she told the Sheet.
Also according to the deputy, the agents did not request any documentation from the three parliamentarians. The trio registered an online police report to denouncing racism.
