The World Expo 2025 exhibition in Osaka began with a ceremony with the participation of Emperor Narahit, Prime Minister Ishiba Šigero and representatives of 158 countries.
The opening ceremony of the world exhibition EXPO 2025 took place on Saturday in the Japanese city of Osaka. It was also attended by the Emperor Naruhito with his wife Masako, as well as approximately 1,300 guests, including representatives of 158 participating countries and territories. The exPA 2025 gates will be opened for the first time for visitors on Sunday at 09.00 local time (03.00 CEST). TASR informs about this, referring to the Japanese NHK television report.
“I honestly hope that the Expo 2025 exhibition in Osaka will give people from around the world to respect not only their own lives, but also the lives of other people and different forms of life that exist in nature. In addition, they should inspire them to cooperate in creating a sustainable future,” Narukito said with reference to the motto of the exhibitions for our lives “.
The importance of world exhibitions
Japanese Prime Minister Išiba Šiger said that the world is currently divided in many spheres. “I believe that in times like these, it is important that people from all over the world meet and discuss the topic of life,” he added.
The Slovak Republic is also represented at the Expe 2025. The aim of the exposition in the Slovak Pavilion is to present the country as an attractive destination in the field of tourism and business. The National Day of the Slovak Republic will take place on 10 September.
The first world exhibition took place in London in 1851. World exhibitions are held every five years, the venue of October 2020 to April 2021 Dubai.
The exhibition in Osaka will be open until October 13. The organizers expect more than 28 million visitors, of which more than 140,000 on the first day. However, the sale of tickets is bound – only 8.7 million were sold before the opening of the EXPA, although 14 million were counted.
