The PL leader in the House, Cavalcante (RJ), pressed the president of the house, Hugo Motta (Republicans-PB), so that he inserts the Amnesty Bill (PL) on the agenda, which provides for forgiveness to those convicted of January 8.
For the parliamentarian, the head of the house “cannot stretch the rope all the time.”
“President Hugo Motta said, ‘If you bring the signatures of leader to the agenda.’ All the time about PL for being the largest party in the house, ”said Sostenes.
The deputy also stated that Hugo cannot be broken with the left or “the largest party on the right,” referring to PL.
“If he, as president, break down with the left and the largest party on the right, he will be unfeasible as the house, then he will need to make that decision urgently,” he said.
The PL leader also stressed that he was “giving comfort” to Hugo, so that he says “to whom he needs to say he is a majority:” I have no way to hold on “and insert on the agenda and we appreciate the matter.”
“Amnesty is a matter of days”
Sostenes Cavalcante stated that he was confident that the agenda will be appreciated soon and stated that “amnesty is a matter of days.”
According to the parliamentarian, the expectation is that, on April 24, the agenda will be inserted in the Chamber of Deputies. He says he has “the conviction that this text coming to the plenary will pass with over 300 votes.”
The deputy also stated that he will talk to Hugo Motta, on the morning of April 22, after the Easter holiday.
“President Hugo Motta arrives on Sunday, I intend to be with him so only on Tuesday, the 22nd, talk, I will not give up this conversation with him on Tuesday morning with him to solve this issue and he give me his position regarding the schedule,” he said.
Hugo About Amnesty
During an event of the São Paulo Commercial Association, on April 7 ,.
“This is not Brazil’s unique agenda. We can’t be a house of one agenda, a one -grade song, that’s not it. Brazil is much bigger than that, we have numerous challenges,” he said.
Hugo also stated that forgiveness to condemned by the acts of January 8 can further increase the tension between the powers: “This is why I will lead this theme with the serenity it requires, listening to the leaders, respecting most of the house. So, do not count on this president to aggravate a situation in the country that is no longer so good.”
