Slovakia needs a well -managed migration policy to support the employment of foreigners, which should be more flexible and predictable. At the beginning of the year there were over the country more than 100,000 vacanciesdespite the fact that The number of workers from abroad increased to 118,000. The Slovak labor market faces a lack of workforce, and without foreigners, many companies would not be able to cover their personal needs. This was pointed out by the Association of HR Agencies (APAS).

“Home workforce is not enough to cover demand, either because of demographic development, low mobility or disinterest in some types of work. Even a record number of vacancies despite a record number of workers, shows that Slovak employers have to seek more and more solutions outside the borders of our country, ” The operational manager from the recruitment agency Transfer Slovakia was presented by Matúš Busha.

Last year, the system of national visas, which simplified and accelerated the process of employing workers from third countries, was also supposed to help fill vacancies in industry. For employers, at least a partial solution to the situation was lacking in the labor market. However, this system also had restrictions, because part of the companies criticized its lengthy process and bureaucracy. However, it is no longer possible to apply for national industry visas.

Third -country staff can use a new procedure from 15 July 2024, that allows them to get to work immediately after the complete application is submitted. At the same time, this change should help companies fill vacancies faster. The new procedure has Simplify administrative processes and better coordination between companies, embassies and foreign police. Vladimír Jančo, Director of the Transfer Slovakia personnel agency, said that although the system is to be more effective, its implementation in practice can be complicated.

“The biggest obstacle is the need to wait for the deadline for the councils and then to the foreign police, which brings an extension of the process. Due to the time -consumingness can be said that The system is still not optimal And employers would welcome further shortening of administrative deadlines and unification of the procedure at individual offices, ”he explained.

According to human resources, the solution for the future is flexible and well -managed migration policy, which can respond to changing economic conditions and allows companies to access workforce when they need it. Government and employers should therefore work together on a more flexible and faster system of receiving a workforce from abroad, that allows you to respond quickly to changing labor market conditions.
