6 tips for saving electricity without changing your routine

1. Change the lamps for LED models

This is one of the fastest and most effective ways to save energy.

LED lamps consume up to 80% less than incandescent and last much longer.

You don’t have to change them all at once. Start with the environments where light is lit for longer, such as living room, kitchen and hallway. Gradually, replace the others.

2. Remove offices from the outlet when not using

Even turned off, several devices continue to consume energy in.

This includes television, microwaves, porters and computers.

It sounds little, but adding every day, the expense at the end of the month is much larger than you think.

Use line filters (the famous rulers) with a turn off button. This makes it easier to cut this “hidden” consumption.

3. Enjoy natural light during the day

Opening windows and curtains in the morning is a simple way to save energy.

Natural light, besides being free, brings more life and well-being to environments.

Whenever possible, use this lighting to read, work or do housework.

4. Use the electric shower with intelligence

The shower is one of the biggest villains in the electricity bill, but you can save money while taking that relaxing bath.

Try to reduce bathing time and avoid using the “winter” function on warmer days.

Another important tip: take a bath outside the peak times (between 18h and 21h), when the energy is more expensive in some regions.

5. Regulate the refrigerator temperature

The refrigerator works 24 hours a day, so any adjustment makes a difference. Make sure the door rubber is prohibiting well.

If there are cracks, the engine works more to maintain the temperature and consumes more energy.

Also avoid opening the door many times or leaving it open for a long time.

Also, do not put hot food inside the refrigerator as this requires more engine effort.

6. Keep the devices in good condition

Preventive maintenance is allied when saving energy.

Dirty air conditioning filters, for example, make the device work harder and spend much more.

The same goes for refrigerators, fans and other equipment.
