It will acquire and implement in its metal detecting ordinances at the request of councilors who have been complaining about the sense of insecurity. A decree for installation and operation of the devices was published in the Official Gazette on the 25th.

According to the text, visitors’ access “is subject to safety inspection, made through fixed and portable metal detectors, as well as other electronic equipment.”

According to a decree signed by the House table, those who refuse to inspections will be forbidden to enter the house.

Since the beginning of the current legislature, there are reports of councilors such as Thammy Miranda (PSD) and Rubinho Nunes (Union), who have already received unexpected visits in their offices.

Today, to access the house, there is no need for any authorization from councilors or employees. There is also no metal magazine and detector, a model used, for example, in the Legislative Assembly building.

Some councilors also said the column under anonymity that homeless people end up using the bathroom sink to bathe, which, according to them, makes use of use for employees.

A part complained to the mayor, Ricardo Teixeira (União), the crowd of homeless residents by the corridors, especially in the fourth floor, where is the office of Councilwoman Luna Zarattini (). Right at the entrance of the petista’s office there is a computer that is used by the general public.

“Our office is open to the population without any distinction and we fight for public policies aimed at the homeless population,” said Zarattini, leader of the PT in the House.

“Want to limit the entry of people in vulnerable situations in the City Hall that is regarded as the People’s House is a great setback,” he adds.

Defender of the metal detector installation, Rubinho installed electronic locks at the doors of his cabinet. “The SP Chamber has fragile security, with very low access control. In recent years I received a series of threats that are under police care,” says the councilman.

“Today, we became increasingly exposed and vulnerable. So I chose to install electronic locks with access control throughout the cabinet,” Rubinho continued.
