The divers of the New York Police Department will continue this Sunday with the search for the main rotor, the main gearbox, the tail rotor and a large part of the helicopter’s tail arm, through the use of a side sweep sound to identify possible locations of the remains.
Until now, responsible for the NTSB have met with representatives of the helicopter operator, New York Helicopter Charter Inc., to review the operational records, policies and procedures, security management systems and pilot’s experience. Researchers have also examined two test helicopters.
The NTSB has been able to verify that the last important inspection of the injured helicopter took place on March 1. Before the accident, the helicopter had made seven tourist tours.
The incident, which concludes the provisional evaluation occurred during the eighth flight of the day, cost the lives of former delegate (CEO) of Siemens in Spain Agustín Escobar, his wife and three children, as well as that of the apparatus pilot, Sean Johnson.
