Helicopter falls to Hudson: revealed new details that can compromise investigation

Accident cost the former Siemens executive president in Spain, Agustin Escobar, his wife and three children, as well as the helicopter pilot.

The helicopter that fired on Thursday on the Hudson River in New York with a Spanish family on board did not have any incident registration instruments for the ongoing investigation of the US NTSB.

There were no video recorders or chambers on board, nor any aviation system capable of registering information for the investigation that continues to perform this weekend.

In the last update on the investigation, NTSB was able to confirm the recovery of various parts of the device, including the main fuselage, the ‘cockpit’ and the passenger cabin, the front pipe front, the horizontal stabilizer blades and the vertical shovel.

NTSB began to evaluate the helicopter flight control system.

New York Police divers will continue to look for the main helicopter rotor, the main speed box, the tail rotor, and much of the helicopter tail tube using a side scan to identify possible wreckage sites.

So far, NTSB employees have met with representatives of the helicopter operator, the New York Helicopter Charter Inc, to analyze operational records, policies and procedures, security management systems and pilot experience.

NTSB concluded that the last major inspection of the rugged helicopter took place on March 1. Before the accident, the helicopter had made seven sightseeing tours.

The accident, which the provisional evaluation concludes that occurred during the eighth flight of the day, cost the former Siemens CEO in Spain, Agustin Escobar, his wife and three children, as well as the helicopter pilot Sean Johnson.
