The religious leader, Father Massimo Lombardi, published a video on his social networks on Sunday (13), with a very important message, which addresses the real meaning of Holy Week.

This morning in Rio Branco, faithful participated in the traditional Mass and Procession of Ramos, which marks the beginning of the program that celebrates the passion, death and resurrection of Christ. For the Italian, who has lived in Acre for over 50 years, even with the important event of the liturgical date in the Christian tradition, the world is still in chaos, with several wars.
“Holy Week has begun, now our great sadness, including the sadness of Jesus who came to be the messenger sign of peace, harmony and universal fraternity, is that there is still bombing in Ukraine. There is still bombing in the Gaza Strip, and so many other places in the world is feeding hatred, injustice, war…” he commented.
Even with these real sadness, in a world of uncertainty and violence, the priest states that the Holy Week is a period that invites us to contemplate the greatest mystery of faith, which is “death that generates life and the cross that becomes hope.”
