Newborn baby is found in bag in the trash in Cuiabá

The Military Police of Mato Grosso (PMMT) rescued a newborn babyon the afternoon of last Thursday (10), in Cuiabá. The child appears to have three days of age and was located in a bag in an abandoned area of ​​the CPA 4 neighborhood.

The baby was from the 3rd Battalion, Ricardo Augusto de Oliveira Cruz and Ivan Barbosa dos Santos Carvalho, during a patrol along Avenida Curió. They were approached by people who claimed to have heard a baby’s cry.

When they went to the indicated site, the agents found that of a plastic bag. She had clothes but still had the umbilical cord and placenta remains in her hair.

The police took the girl, who weighs three pounds, to the Emergency Care Unit of Bairro Morada do Ouro, where she underwent medical attention.

“This was a quick action that shows the preparation of our police to face any situation. The baby has been saved alive and now goes through all the necessary care to be well welcomed and we will be following everything,” said Lieutenant Colonel Matheus Cacciolari, a joint of the 3rd BPM.

The newborn is doing well and will be subjected to complementary examinations at the Forensic Medical Institute (IML) and will then be welcomed by the Guardianship Council. A police report was also filed and the case should be investigated in the criminal sphere by the Civil Judicial Police.
