Progressive Slovakia (PS) calls on Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD) and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Juraj Blanar (Smer-SD) to condemn Sunday’s Russian missile attack on the Ukrainian city. It criticizes the government that instead of clear steps to support Ukraine and the hard attitude towards the regime of Russian President Vladimir Putin, he is silent. TASR reported this from the media department of the movement.

“The rocket attack on Palm Sunday killed over 30 innocent people and injured the other dozens. This terrible tragedy is solved by the whole civilized world, but our government is poking his head in the sand again,” The chairman of the PS Michal Šimečka said. He added that this is exactly the behavior of an aggressor who refuses peace and continues to kill. “And Robert Fico’s government is shamelessly silent, or empty speaking about how he loves peace,” added.

At least 32 people died on Sunday’s attack in the city and at least 84 other people suffered injuries. Two ballistic missiles hit the city center when a number of civilians celebrating Palm Sunday met on the streets.
