Russia performed an attack with ballistic missiles in the city of Sumy, Ukraine, during the celebrations of Ramos Sunday. To date, the Ukrainian government has confirmed 21 deaths.
At X, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned the Russian attack on a civil region at a time of religious celebration and sent condolences to the victims’ families. “A rescue operation is underway. All the necessary services are working at the scene,” he said.
In the publication, Zelensky also stressed that the world must firmly respond to this type of attack. “The United States, Europe, all in the world who want this war and these murders to end. Russia wants exactly this kind of terror and is prolonging this war. No pressure on Russia, peace is impossible,” emphasized the Ukrainian President, who also said that an action -oriented action is needed.
European Commission vice president Kaja Kallas also condemned the X attack and provided solidarity with the Ukrainians. “This is a horrible example of Russia intensifying attacks while Ukraine has accepted an unconditional ceasefire. My thoughts are with the Ukrainian people today,” he said.
