Another accident in New York: Jet gets up and kills footballer, family and boyfriend

Karenna Groff, MIT Women’s Football player, receives the NCAA Women’s Award in 2022.

All six passengers have died and causes of the accident are being investigated. Accident only occurs two days after a helicopter falls into the Hudson River and kills the Siemens CEO and his family.

Six people died following a plane crash in Copake, New York. Among the deadly victims is the athlete Karenna Groffex-(university level), in 2022, like your parents, your boyfriend and their girlfriend.

The accident, which took place on Saturday, took place with the athlete’s father, neurosurgeon Michael Groff, in place as a pilot, and cost his mother’s life, Joy Sani, urogynecologist, and her boyfriend, James Santoro, a lacquousse player of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). On board was still the athlete’s brother and his girlfriend, he advanced, who cites statements from his own family.

The victims would be on their way to Catskills to celebrate Karenna’s 25th anniversary and the Easter holiday, when Mitsubishi Mu-2b twin-engine plane crashedShortly after noon, in a muddy field near Massachusetts border, having been “compressed, deformed, and embedded on the ground,” said an NTSB official.

Air traffic control will have tried to contact the pilot several times, but has not obtained any response or rescue request from the aircraft that was heading to Columbia County airport, which eventually rocked about 32 kilometers south of its destination.

The pilot was flying according to instrument flight rules rather than visual flight rules. It was too early to determine whether reduced visibility due to meteorological conditions had been a factor, authorities say. The plane was certified and in accordance with federal aviation administration rules.

The remote location of the scene of the accident and the slippery terrain made the efforts of the bodies recovery authorities difficult.

“World has lost very good people”

Originally from Weston, Massachusetts, Karenna Groff was a biomedical engineering student who co-funded OpenPPE during Covid-19 pandemic to help conceive protective masks for essential workers. After graduating, he enrolled in the NYU School of Medicine.

“The world lost a number of very good people who would do very well to the world if they had the opportunity. We are all personally devastated,” the father of the victim James Santoro, John Santoro, told AP.

“Karenna has shown exceptional competence and unshakable passion for the care provided to the sick and the mission of our institution. We will remind us of her for her warmth, her grace, her goodness, her extraordinary achievements and the pure joy she brought to our community,” said a NYU spokesman.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has launched an investigation into the accident and is expected to bring an update soon.
