Little Maitê Valentina da Costa, just 1 year old, who was shot in the head in a crime that shocked Rio Branco, was discharged on Monday (14), after spending an hospitalized month.

The baby was hit during a criminal attack in the Santa Inês neighborhood on March 8. The confirmation that Maitê should return home today was informed by the Children’s Hospital, where she had been accompanied.
According to information, she was shot twice in the head, having one of the bullets lodged in the skull and another transfixante. Her health has oscillated several times while she was hospitalized and she underwent several surgeries before receiving discharge.
Only one person was arrested accused of the crime. Gleisson de Souza Barbosa was arrested by police from the 2nd Military Police Battalion two days after the attack. He confirmed that he had participation driving the vehicle to the other accused.
The case is still under investigation, and so far the Homicide and Personnel Protection Police Station (DHPP) has not disclosed the names of the other participants of the criminal action.
