The former president (PL) passed this Sunday (13) by the sixth abdominal surgery since stabbed in the 2018 election campaign.
It was the longest and most complex procedure of those already performed in the former Mandanker. It started shortly after 10am and, around 9:20 pm, former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro posted that she was successfully completed.
The former president is admitted to the DF Star Hospital in Brasilia, after being transferred from Natal on Saturday (12).
The surgery was Friday in the abdomen region performed by Bolsonaro since the stab, and the most difficult of all due to the accumulation of procedures, according to doctors heard by Sheet.
It was also the longest surgery. The one that had lasted more earlier had occurred in January 2019 to remove colostomy bag. At the time, three hours of surgery were planned, but the large amount of intestine adhesions led the medical team to perform a more complex procedure, which extended for seven hours.
This Sunday’s surgery was expected to be time consuming and complex.

By 10:20 am, the DF Star issued a note in which he stated that laboratory and image examinations performed on the former president showed “persistence of the intestinal subcupation staff, despite the initial measures adopted”.
“The teams that assist him have chosen by mutual agreement for surgical treatment. He is currently being submitted to the surgical procedure of exploiting laparotomy, to release intestinal adhesions and reconstruction of the abdominal wall,” the statement said.
Intestinal adhesions are a kind of biological “glue” resulting from the healing process of the original trauma, such as stab, whether from later surgeries. When hard, this structure forms cords that can stick or join parts of the body.
Depending on the position, it can gather two parts of the organ handle, obstructing the passage of the food.
The exploiting laparotomy consists of opening the abdominal wall. The point of obstruction is identified, it is cut the adhesions and unobstruction of the intestine to finally rebuild the abdominal wall.
Earlier this Sunday, in a message sent to allied deputies and senators via WhatsApp, the former president stated that, from 8 am, the new surgery would be performed, “still due to stab.”
“Beside my side Bishop JB Carvalho and good doctors and nurses. God willing everything will happen well,” Bolsonaro wrote.
In a social network, the governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), quoted “prayer” and “strength” to the former president, as well as desiring ready recovery to the ally.
On Saturday, the former president stated at X (former Twitter) that he was “hurriedly hospitalized” with “intense pain and strong abdominal distension”.
He also said in the same post that he might not have noticed the severity of the case: “Doctor Claudio Birolini explained to me that this was the most serious picture since the attack that almost took my life,” he wrote. “After my transfer, I will probably undergo a new surgery,” he said.
The former president traveled from Natal to Brasilia on a plane with ICU equipment. He left the hospital walking and nodded to supporters, but had a small tube attached to his nose, and two men held his shirt in the back.
The transfer to Brasilia was a decision of, wife of the former president. Allies argued that he went to Sao Paulo, and Bolsonaro himself mentioned this possibility on social networks.
