The high representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs, Kaja Kallas, urged “maximum pressure on Russia” because what “really wants” is the war in Ukraine and not a high fire.
“We have to exert the pressure, the maximum pressure, on Russia, so that it really ends this war, because two are needed to want peace,” Kallas said before the press upon his arrival at a Council of Foreign Ministers of the European Union in Luxembourg.
“You only need one to want war, and we see that Russia really wants war, and everyone who wants the killing to stop should exert maximum pressure on Russia,” he added.
The head of community diplomacy referred to the last Russian attack with ballistic missiles this Sunday against the center of the city of Sumi, in the northeast of Ukraine, where 34 people died.
“We see the most deadly attacks. In this war, civilians are being killed. And, of course, a month has passed since Ukraine agreed to a high unconditional fire. We have not seen it by Russia,” he said in reference to the conversations between the United States and Moscow to implement a truce.
