Nvidia has announced that for the first time it will manufacture artificial intelligence supercomputers entirely in the United States. According to the company, the project will be made possible in partnership with industries that will build factories in Arizona and Texas.
“The world’s AI infrastructure engines are being built in the United States for the first time,” said Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of Nvidia.
The production of Blackwell chips, considered essential for advanced AI systems, has already begun at the facilities of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) in Phoenix. In Texas, factories that will be operated with Foxconn, Houston, and Wistron, in Dallas, should be operated in 12 to 15 months.
The company states that the manufacture of these supercomputers depends on a highly specialized supply chain, with advanced packaging technologies, assembly and testing. To meet this demand, Nvidia has signed agreements with the companies AMKOR and SPIL, which will also work in Arizona.
Over the next four years, the company’s expectation is to manufacture up to $ 500 billion in AI infrastructure in the US. These supercomputers feed the so -called “AI Factory” – Data Centers focused exclusively on the training and operation of artificial intelligence models. Nvidia’s forecast is to build dozens of these centers, which, according to the company, can generate “hundreds of thousands of jobs and trillions of dollars in economic impact.”
The company also aims to use technologies such as Omniverse, which creates factories ‘digital twins’, and autonomous robots Isaac GR00T to make production more efficient.
