Advisor Amaury Albuquerque Nascimento was disconnected from the office of Deputy Elmar Nascimento (Union-BA) after being cited in Operation Overclean. He held the position of parliamentary secretary in the office between May 8, 2024 and February 2, 2025.
Sought, the deputy reported that it was the server who asked to leave the function to take another job. Amaury Nascimento is a lawyer. The advisor’s name is in a spreadsheet that, according to the Federal Police, was used by entrepreneurs for “payment control for improper advantages”.
The file would be a kind of accounting of the bribes of the alleged diversion scheme of parliamentary amendments. The document was seized in the first phase of Operation Overclean, triggered in December 2024.
The former advisor appears in the spreadsheet as “Amau Campo”, which according to the PF is a reference to his name and city of birth, Campo Formoso, in Bahia, electoral stronghold of the Nascimento clan. Amaury is the deputy’s cousin.
Sought, Amaury reported that the dismissal request has no relation to Operation Overclean. “Also because I was never summoned to provide any clarification. I have no formal science of anything that binds me to this investigation,” he said.
Two other family members of Elmar Nascimento are also in the sights of the Federal Police in Operation Overclean. His brother, Elmo Aluizio Vieira Nascimento, and another cousin, Councilman Francisco Manoel do Nascimento Neto, known as Francisquinho Nascimento, were cited in the inquiry. All are linked to União Brasil.

With 71 thousand inhabitants, the municipality of Campo Formoso, in Chapada Diamantina, is administered by Elmo Aluizio Vieira Nascimento (Union), brother of the deputy.
The Federal Police found messages about meetings between the mayor, a superintendent of the São Francisco and Parnaíba Valleys Development Company (Codevasf) and the representative of a company that won bids in the municipality. The report requested demonstration from the City Hall. The conversations dragged helm into the investigation.
Francisquinho Nascimento was secretary of government of Campo Formoso. He threw a bag with $ 220,000 through the window in the first phase of Operation Overclean. The PF found a message in which he claims that Codevasf’s president, Marcelo Andrade Moreira Pinto, is “our friend, is our indication.”

Operation Overclean’s investigation was transferred to the Federal Supreme Court (STF) on suspicion of involvement of Elmar Nascimento. The Supreme Court has the competence to conduct surveys on authorities with forum prerogative.
An amendment of the deputy for a Codevasf agreement placed the parliamentarian in the sights of the PF. The funds were destined to the City Hall.
Sought by Estadãothe deputy stated that, by 2024, the amendments to Codevasf were authored by the budget rapporteur and that the parliamentarian who indicates amendments “has no competence and does not become responsible for the execution of the funds and the inspection of the respective works and services”.
