More than half of the electric supports awarded in 2024 have not yet been paid, but the government promises to complete the evaluation process by the end of May.
More than half of the support for electric mobility attributed in 2024 continue to pay, at a time when incentives for 2025 sold out in just three days. According to the environmental fund, it is still processing last year’s requests, totaling 8976 applications, of which Only 3207 were sent for payment. The Ministry of Environment and Energy promises to complete the evaluation by the end of May.
Applications include various typologies such as electric cars, bicycles (electrical and conventional), motorcycles, tricycles and vehicle chargers in condominiums. In this last category, No candidacy has yet been evaluated. The supports vary depending on the typology, being 4000 euros for electric cars and up to 1500 euros for electrical load bikes.
Despite delays in processing of 2024, the new wave of support of 2025 – with a budget of 13.5 million euros – had a impressive adhesion. The funds were sold out in three days and 1425 candidatures for electric cars were considered eligible, 3200 for electric bicycles, 400 for load and conventional bicycles, and 1001 for other electric mobility devices.
Interestingly, some 2025 applications, such as those related to electrical chargers, may be paid before 2024. To date, 197 candidatures have been approved and only await the submission of payment requests. In addition, payment requests for hundreds of vehicles have already been submitted, led by the electric bicycles (1159), followed by cars (366), conventional bikes (214) and load bikes (156).
The simplest application process will have been a determining factor for speed and greater adhesion. One of the changes was the elimination of the obligation to present the invoice at the time of the candidacy, and is now possible deliver it only after purchasewhich accelerates the process.
For 2025, the largest amount – 5.7 million euros – was intended for the acquisition of electric cars. There are still 546 vacancies, exclusively for light electric vehicles for private social solidarity institutions (IPSS).
