A preliminary magnitude 5.2 earthquake hit Monday, 14, near San Diego, according to US Geological Service (USGS).
The epicenter of the earthquake was registered at 4.05 kilometers south of Julian, in San Diego County.
At least nine secondary tremors were reported after the initial earthquake.
It is not yet known if there are reports of injuries or damage.
