The largest AI chip manufacturer is moving a part of production to the US, plans to expand production in Arizona and Texas.
Nvidia plans to invest several hundred billion dollars in the US for the next four years. The world’s largest chip manufacturer for artificial intelligence (AI) on Monday (April 14) announced that, in cooperation with partners, such as Taiwanese TSMC chip manufacturer, it will build servers for artificial intelligence worth up to $ 500 billion (€ 439,480,000). TASR reports this based on Reuters and DPA reports.
The plans include the production of Blackwell chips at the TSMC factory in Phoenix, Arizona, as well as Foxconn and Wistron supercomputers in Texas. Production is to be started in twelve to fifteen months. “The expansion of American production will help us to better satisfy the incredible and growing demand for artificial intelligence chips and supercomputers,” explained Jensen Huang CEO of Nvidia.
Move production to the US
Nvidia is currently producing most of its processors in Taiwan. Given the US President Donald Trump’s customs policy, the Group is now joining other technology companies that move part of their production of chips to the United States.
