Clandestine circumcision kills baby in Almeria. There are three detainees, including parents

Three people were arrested by the Civil Guardia in Roquetas del Mar, Almeria, in Spain, after a baby died after a clandestine circumcision at the family home,

The age of the baby was not revealed. According to the Diario de Almeria, the child suffered “a severe bleeding following the surgery”, having been transported by parents – originals from Mali – to a health center. However, health professionals could do nothing to save the child.

The “surgery” happened on Sunday, and the baby’s corpse remains at the Institute of Forensic Medicine to be self -opposed.

According to the newspaper, the detainees are the parents of the baby, as well as the man who performed circumcision – who had no medical formation.

The suspects will be present in court.
