The president repeated on Monday (14) that the former senator () was hit by a paper ball during the act of the 2010 presidential campaign.

In an event in Campos dos Goytacazes (RJ) inauguration of the new UFF campus (Fluminense Federal University), Lula honored the president of CUT in Rio, Sandro Cezar, involved in the confusion in which Serra was targeted.

“These companions were famous to pursue the candidacy of Serra [em 2010]. Then they threw a ball of paper that invented it was a stone. They invented that it was a stone and these companions were persecuted for a long time on their profession, “said the president.

Lula refers to a fight during a Serra walk on the Campo Grande boardwalk, in the West Zone of Rio de Janeiro, in October 2010. A group of endemic combat workers (known as “Mata-Mosquitos”) protested against the then presidential candidate, also former Minister of Health, when they clashed with the toucan’s allies.

At the end of the confusion, which lasted about 15 minutes of walking, stones, flag masts and other objects were thrown towards Serra. At this moment, the then presidential man put his hands on his head for, according to him and allies, to have been hit by an object. In the same turmoil, a TV Globo reporter took a stone.

The next day, the former president, in her first candidacy, regretted the episode.

The version repeated by Lula on Monday came the next day in a SBT report, which caught a ball of paper reaching the head of Serra at the beginning of the confusion, about 15 minutes before the most intense moment of the fight.

At the time in his second term, the petista mocked Serra: “Yesterday, they sold all day that this man [Serra] had been beaten. […] A more serious lie than the lie that goalkeeper Rojas. “

Subsequently, the SBT management acknowledged that its report had not recorded the tense moment of confusion ,. The station showed a new report days later, describing the riot in full.

TV Globo, a day after Lula’s criticism, hired expert Ricardo Molina to analyze the images. He concluded that Serra was hit by an object similar to a roll of adhesives.
