After freezing money, Trump threatens Harvard’s fiscal exemption

President tries to end diversity policies and accuses university not to protect Jewish students

United States President Donald Trump (Republican) threatened this Thursday (15.br.2025) to remove tax exemptions from the University of Harvard, removing his status as an educational institution to classify it as a political entity.

The day before, Trump had already frozen $ 2.2 billion in subsidies and $ 60 million in contracts with the University of Cambridge. Pro powers tries to end diversity and dimension policies for minorities in admission processes.

Trump has also accused Harvard and other universities in the country of failing to protect Jewish students, especially in the context of protests against war in the Gaza Strip.

Alan Garber, who runs Harvard, said the university will not renounce its independence or constitutional rights.
