Former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) completed more than 48 postoperative hours on Wednesday (16). According to a medical report released on the morning of Wednesday (16), he was without pain, bleeding or other complications, with “good clinical evolution”. There is no forecast of discharge from the ICU of DF Star Hospital in Brasilia.

The politician continues with motor and respiratory physiotherapy programming and with the recommendation of not receiving visits.

Brasilia, April 16, 2025-DF Star Hospital reports that former President Jair Bolsonaro remains hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), in postoperative follow-up. It has good clinical evolution, without pain, bleeding or other complications. Maintains motor physiotherapy programming (walking outside the bed) The breathing persisted the recommendation of not receiving visits and there is no forecast of discharge from the ICU.

On social networks, Bolsonaro published a photo sitting in a hospital chair. In the caption, he wrote “thank you, from the heart, all the prayers, messages and the affection of all of you. We continue firm, with faith and confidence in recovery.”

This Tuesday (15), former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro published, on social networks, a message about the visit.

“The president continues to receive only family visits. For now, we are not making exceptions and we thank everyone for their understanding. Deputy Zucco went through the hospital reception, but did not go up,” he said. On the same day, the opposition leader in Camara, Zucco (PL-RS), was on site and said he would not go up to the room.

What happened?

Bolsonaro was transferred to Brasilia last Saturday (12) after feeling severe abdominal pain on Friday (11), when he was in Rio Grande do Norte.

The diagnosis indicated a partial obstruction in the intestine. This is the seventh surgery performed at the former president since the knife attack suffered in the 2018 election campaign.

The decision by the procedure was made after examinations pointed out that the initial clinical measures were not enough to solve the problem.
