Centrão party leaders assess that the president of (Republicans-PB) will not be able to prevent those involved in plenary, and predict their approval by margin close to that of constitutional amendment, or 308 deputies.
The reasoning is that many center-right parliamentarians wanted to support the project’s urgent request, but were afraid of the government’s reaction and the (Supreme Court). Already in the vote on the merits, they could feel freer to vote favorably.
Other parliamentarians, however, assess that the reverse may also occur: deputies who supported the urgent request to guide the project, but not necessarily defend it.
If the approval occurs by large margin in the House, there would be too much pressure on the Senate to do the same. In this case, a possible veto of the president would easily be overthrown, which would lead the issue to be decided by the STF.
