Santiago Bernabéu prepares for another magic night of Champions League. Real Madrid, who lost his first leg 3-0 against Arsenal, believes in a new turnaround and his supporters as well. Faith in the impossible crosses borders, and among the thousands of lovers who will fill the stadium this Wednesday is a Colombian who has made an authentic pilgrimage from Cartagena to Madrid, just to watch the game… and return soon.
“I came from Colombia just for this game. It’s hard, but I believe in the turnaround. That’s why I’m here,” the fan told journalist Edu Aguirre of the El Chiringuito program on the streets of the Spanish capital.
The trip was long – more than 10 hours by plane, arriving the night before. The Colombian will barely have time to rest: he sees the game, lives the dream, and returns soon after. The ticket alone cost him 1300 euros, more than 6 million Colombian pesos, out of flights. “It’s a dream I have since I was little,” he confided.
In Bernabéu, hope is reborn even when everything seems lost. Real Madrid are not guided by statistics, nor by 5.88% of hypothesis of recovering from a disadvantage of three goals. After all, much more unlikely predictions, such as Manchester City in 2022, has toppled up when two goals of Rodrygo in the end brought the game for extension and sealed one of the greatest reassembles in Championship history.
Tonight, the eyes of the world will be back to Madrid. And, in the middle, a fan who crossed the Atlantic only with one certainty: never doubts Real Madrid.
✈️🇨🇴 “I come from Colombia just because I believe in the comeback.”
💰 “10 hours of travel and € 1300 of entry”.
🏟️ Real Madrid players, already in the Bernabéu, trust the miracle.
