Egg coloring is an Easter tradition in many countries and often associates with bright colors and patterns. But what to do if you long for bright white eggs, but they don’t have them in the store, or do not have time to look for them? We will advise you how to easily blend them at home.
Easter is a period of traditions and one of the most popular is the coloring of eggs. Whether using natural ingredients or bright colors from the store. To make the shell colors excel as possible, it is ideal to start with the lightest, preferably white egg. But such eggs are not always easy to get. Most available in stores have a shell in different shades of brown, which can distort the resulting shade. So if you want to achieve beautifully bright colors or simply prefer pure white shells, we have a simple solution for you to whiten the eggs at home. All you need is the only common ingredient that you can find in almost every kitchen. White vinegar.

Domestic egg whitening
The home -bleaching process is surprisingly simple and does not require any special aids. Just prepare a glass or other higher container into which you pour white vinegar. Place the eggs inwards so that it is all submerged. For example, you can help with a spoon or other small load that keeps it at the bottom. The vinegar immediately responds with the calcium in the shell, which you can tell by the fine murmur and bubbles.
After approximately 20 minutes, carefully remove and rinse under running water. At the moment you will notice that the top layer of the shell is beginning to peel off slightly. So you can gently wipe it with a paper napkin or cloth. But if the egg is still not light enough, simply put it back in vinegar for another 20 minutes. You can repeat this procedure several times. Don’t worry, with every immersion the shell will be whiter and whiter.
The whole process takes about an hour to an hour and a half, depending on the original color of the shell. Once you reach the desired shade, just rinse the egg, gently dry and ready for further decoration. The result is worth it! You get a beautiful white egg, where all colors and patterns stand out.
