The Hungarian amendment of the Constitution favors the rights of children over the right to gather. The law makes it possible to disable Pride processes, which has triggered a wave of protests.

Several hundred protesters released on Wednesday evening from Buda Square of St. Juraj (Szent György Tér) towards Elizabeth’s Bridge to continue a series of demonstrations against restricting the right to gather. According to the Hang.hu server, the parade organizer is led by the organizer of protest gatherings – an independent parliamentary Member of Parliament Ákos Hadházy, informs the TASR rapporteur in Budapest.

The fifth Hadházy’s demonstration began on Tuesday. Several endurance remained overnight at the headquarters of the head of state on the square and continued to protest.

Demonstrators carried the flags of Hungary and the European Union and chanted “democracy”, “come with us”, “gathering is a fundamental right, but also” dirty Fidesz “.

At all the existing demonstrations, they demanded the abolition of the “Technical Farmership Act”, which allows for prohibition of the Pride March.

Hadházy on one of the protests with thousands of participants on April 2 said that the protests will continue until this law is canceled. He described the legislation in question as “techno -fascist” and added that it was created according to the example of similar laws existing in China or Russia.

MEPs approved the Hungarian National Assembly on Monday 15. The amendment to the Constitution, which, among other things, gives the green amendment of the Act on the Gathering. The amendment to the Constitution prefers the rights of children over the right to collect and, for example, will allow the Act on the Collection of Pride.
