Italian President Sergio Mattarella was admitted to Santo Spirito in the Roman hospital on Tuesday evening for an operation where he introduced a pacemaker into his body. The President is in a stabilized state after surgery and So far, no negative symptoms have been with him. The procedure began on Tuesday evening at 8 pm Italian head of state spent a quiet night at the hospital cardiology department.
Mattarella was still accepted by the premiere of Montenegro Milájka Spajič on the day of the operation. The introduction of a pacemaker into the body of the 83-year-old president is a common diagnostic procedure to assess the condition of coronary arteries. Staying in the hospital should not significantly disrupt the President’s program for the coming days and weeks.
President on social networks was wished by an early recovery by politicians from various Italian parties. “I send President Mattarell’s most recent wishes of speedy and complete recovery. Italy will soon expect you with the same power and determination as always,” Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni wrote on the social network X.
