The president of Colombia, on Tuesday (15), asked his Ecuadorian pair, to “deliver the minutes of each table” of the second round vote held on Sunday, in which he was reelected amid allegations of fraud by the opposing candidate. Luisa González, a leftist candidate, did not recognize her defeat with a difference of 11 points and will request a recount of the votes. His complaint is rejected by electoral observers of the European Union and the organization of American states.

Petro said on social network X that he received “worrying” information from Colombian observers sent to Ecuador and asked the country’s government to be “to be verified.” The leftist president has suspended his recognition of Noboa’s victory. “As in the Venezuelan case, things should be clarified,” said Nicolás Maduro’s controversial reelection in Venezuela last year.
